Navigating the New Teacher Dashboard (V3)

The redesigned eKool dashboard makes it easier to plan, teach, and manage your daily tasks. Here's an overview of what’s new and where to find key features.
 

What's New?

The updated dashboard is designed to make your daily tasks easier:

  • Modern layout - more space and colour-coded journals
  • Left-side menu -  always visible for quick navigation
  • Lesson schedule -  fast access to lessons, assessments, and homework
  • Events section - stay updated on school events and teacher absences
  • Whiteboard - create private or shared notes. Add links and files
  • School switcher - easily move between schools
  • Profile dropdown - update your settings, switch themes, or log out
  • Help - find help articles, ask questions or engage with the community

Home

When you log in, you’ll land on the Home tab, which includes:

  • My journals – see all your subjects. Hide or show journals for a cleaner view. You can rename them or assign colours and icons.
  • Schedule – each day shows your lessons. You can add or edit lessons, assessments, or homework.
  • Events – view upcoming school events and teacher absences.
  • Whiteboard –  create and view private or shared notes.

Journal Block

In Journal Block, you can:

  • Open your subject journals
  • In block menu you can look at all your journals
    • My journals
    • Past journals
    • Hidden journals
  • Hide Journal Block from your home page

Schedule

From Home view you can access your daily lesson schedule.

From the schedule, you can:

  • Add lessons, homework or assessments
  • Edit or delete entries
  • Open journals for full lesson details

Whiteboard

Located on the right side of the Home view. Whit whiteboard you can:

  • Add notes, reminders, links or files
  • Keep notes private, or share with a group

Journal view

Click any journal from the Home view or open the Journal tab from the left menu. 
eKool remembers your last opened journal, so you can return to it quickly during a lesson.

From here, you can:

  • Add or edit lessons directly from the journal
  • View lesson entries by date
  • Access materials, past lessons, or learning outcomes

Calendar

All events and absences are now centralized in one view.

Use the Calendar tab on the left menu:

  • Switch between monthly and weekly views
  • Add or review school events and teacher absences
  • View timetables for classes, teachers, or rooms
  • See student assessment times or book school resources

Profile dropdown

Click your profile in the upper right corner to:

  • Account settings - update your personal details and preferences
  • Product News - read about new updates and features
  • Submit an idea - share feedback or add suggestions for improvement
  • Theme - choose a light, dark or system-based theme
  • Back to previous eKool version
  • Sign out
